I think this guy turned out really nicely! He has a very intelligent face :D

I need to do a lot more griffin practice because I want to write a children's book about them and illustrate it!

I've been listening* to the Percy Jackson books lately so I was inspired to  draw something!

This is The Huntress! She's a sprite or spirit of the forest :D

She was just going to be a fairy but I didn't like the wings.

Free Miniature Paintings!

I asked my Facebook friends if any of them would be interested in some free artwork! I want to do more artwork but I don't want to make stuff just to shove under the bed or into the closet. So, I figured this would be a good way to branch out!

A couple of people responded (including one of my cousins) and I've finished the first piece!

One of my high school friends requested a painting of the George Washington Bridge in New York in an impressionistic style!

This is what I came up with:

Acrylic on 7x5 inch art board

I'm not sure it's particularly "impressionist" but, good first attempt?

I found a photo to reference here. So as you can see, no, the city's not supposed to be on fire ;)

I'm going to be doing some paintings for some family/friends so I was doing some practice sketches!

One of my cousins requested something like Cicely Mary Barker's flower fairies!

Plumeria fairy?

Garden fairy?

I'm not sure how well I'm going to be able to emulate Ms. Barker's style, her work is so delicate and tight! I might need a lot of practice before I do the final work :)

This is a fire demon. These little guys may look cute and cuddly but don't be fooled... They are vicious creatures who lure unwitting travellers off the path and deep into the woods where they are then served as dinner.

Their bodies are constantly alight with crackling flames. All the better to lure wanderers into the deep forest.

There were actually three drawings for today, but one didn't scan well (and it was ugly) so it's not here...

First up! An androgynous motorcyclist. It was a girl, then a boy, then.... this..?

Side note, AV and I went out on our bikes the other day and we're fairly certain a group of girls was waving at me... I didn't know them... I guess I am a pretty convincing dude :(

Next is a PEE KITTY.

When AV's kitty was a little bitty guy he jumped in the toilet before I could close it. I then had to rinse off said pee kitty at three in the morning before he ran around and scattered pee germs over the entire house. Gross.

I've gotten through FOUR whole months of my sketch resolution!!

I'm pretty proud of myself!

But not as proud as I am about today's drawings!!

I set out to practice drawing some more children and fully expected to end up with a whole miniature zombie army. But I didn't!!! I might actually be able to illustrate some books that wouldn't give little children nightmares.
